Dear…
I strongly urge if you aren’t going to read this book right away that you put it in a place where you can easily find. I was given this book at this place I stayed at when I went to the Jersey shore. At the time I was suffering from a bad case of sunburn. So I had plenty of time to read a book and I read this book in three days. When I was finished I told the guy who let me read the book that this was the most incredible book I had ever read on the subject of health. He told me to keep the book because he had another copy of the book. Since that time I have given 19 copies of this book to various people. I give this book to people I like and I want to see do well. This is my own crazy way of trying to put some meaning into my life. If you take the time to read this book so you can understand the broad range of things you need to do in order to lead a healthy existence than I have accomplished something and can put a little extra meaning in to my own existence.
Sometimes the most important things in your life are the things you never noticed until you lose them. Good health is one of those things. The entry level ticket to achieving all you want in a lifetime. A big handicap if your health falls apart. Most people I give this book to will probably never realize the importance of this gift, a simple book I brought for less than twenty dollars, because most people are to busy trying to survive. Usually it is when you get older in life, after your warranty has expired, you realized you should have paid more attention to your health- but by that time it may be too late. Think of this book as an opportunity to take charge of your health.
Also with this book is a CD you can send away for that will expand on what you have learned in this book. This book was sponsored by the Life Extension Foundation. Membership costs about $70 dollars a year. The LEF is a full service organization that produces magazines and weekly emails, has a free consultation service a lab testing service, and sells a variety of products that are backed up by research. I am not suggesting you join such an organization but when you are ready what ever group you join should have those types of features. The organization as well as I believes everything good and bad starts at the cellular level. They believe you have to intervene with the right nutritional ingredients and exercise to keep things running smoothly. The longer you wait to treat yourself the more dependent you become on doctors and the drug industry whose only options are either to chop you up or drug you up.(Neither one of these industries make money on preventing illnesses) Both options usually create more problems. One study showed 2.2 million people annually having adverse reactions to drugs given in a Hospital. Another part of that study cited nearly 800,000 deaths per year are caused by conventional medicine. (“It is now evident that the American medical system is the leading cause of death and injury in the US.”)
The book lists four nutritional things you need to do to stay in good health:
1: Cut out sugar and refined carbohydrates.
2: Eat more lean protein.
3: Replace unhealthy fats with healthful fats.
4: Consume the widest possible variety of produce and plenty of it.
Sound like an easy list of things to remember, but it will take a lifetime to fully understand and implement what you have to do, and if you’re like me a few things you may never do completely (alcohol converts to pure sugar-more sugar than you will ever need in 10 lifetimes.) I would suggest you implement a few things like a good multivitamin and mineral pill and work from there. When it comes to food the more nutritional items you eat the less desire you will have to stuff garbage down your mouth. (More apples and less Twinkies)
The book also makes a case for aerobic and strength training exercise. A recent magazine article I read states it better than I could: “Our bodies are built for obsolescence after 50, up to 50 you can get away with not exercising; after that, you start paying the price.”
In any case you have to take control of your health while you are still able to. Once you have to depend on doctors and drugs for all of your health needs you are on a path that only leads to one conclusion. It you can’t imagine what the one conclusion is it is already too late.
Good luck and good health: Richard H.
PS Another book: “The Doctor’s Book of Food Remedies”, Prevention Health Books, by Selene Yeager is an excellent and easy to understand book about all the good foods to eat and the bad foods to avoid. It covers everything from Acerola and Aging to Yogurt and Yucca.
