The Life Extension Foundation: the path to good health through nutrition.
Compare the cost of buying your nutrition and health supplements from LEF or from your local grocery store and yes LEF is going to cost more. But like everything else in life you get what you pay for. You also have to compare the support you get from LEF as compared to your local grocery store and the amount of information LEF provides you so that you get the right nutritional benefits. Questions like how much of each ingredient do I need to take, what is to much of each ingredient, what other ingredients help increase the benefits of each other, what drugs (for example did you know that Lipitor decreases the amount of CoQ10 in your body) will interfere with the ingredients you are buying or do the ingredients interfere with whatever drugs you are taking, which ingredients like CoQ10 are not easily absorbed in your body so if you are taking 50mg of Q10 you are actually getting less unless you buy CoQ10 from LEF because they have added a special ingredient (Ubiquinol) to help make their CoQ10 super absorbable.
Below I have reprinted the advertisement LEF sent me to renew my membership. Did I renew my membership: you bet I did, I know a good deal when I see one. One year membership costs $75 per year and in your initial membership you get the book "Disease Prevention and Treatment" as a special bonus. The point of showing you the renew your membership ad is to have you ask the question: does my plan, organization or local drug store offer such a deal? I am going to go out on a limb here and tell you that health and nutrition is not a simple subject and like everyone over 50 knows you have to join an organizations that is looking out for your interests( yes, AARP is well worth the small money you pay them in dues.) if you are spending money to improve your health through nutrition you need to belong to an organization (non-profit) like LEF that also shares your goals for good health.
