My husband and I like tropical keywest type restaurants. Being in Treasure Coast for only 3 years we are always looking for unique dining experiences. So when I got the gift certificates I thought maybe I would locate the restaurant before asking my husband to go somewhere else NEW, if I drag him someplace new, it usually is a winner place and this one was. We decided to take a motorcycle ride on Sunday about 5PM and we ventured to go there for a light dinner. The atmosphere is tropical, live jazz/tropical type music outside on the veranda, with the doors and windows open to enjoy the fresh ocean breeze and inside there are a couple televisions to watch your sporting events such as golf or racing, with a bar and high top tables in one area and then booths and other seating off to the side. Jennifer greeted, seated and served us inside and I told her that this was our first time here and we had gotten our certificates from SFD. She went out of her way to go over the specials, Fresh Seafoods, Lots of FRESH Seafoods, Awesomely FRESH Seafood!! We ordered iced tea that was perfect, not bitter, or too strong, very fresh and light. The seafood choices this day are snapper, bass, swordfish, and 4 other choices. For our entres I ordered the Seafood Platter which I chose grilled Snapper which came with a baked sweet potato and dirty rice. It was FRESH!!!! Perfectly cooked, huge portion, so good that I didn’t put the lemon juice on. The dirty rice was very flavorful and pefect with the grilled taste of the fish. My husband ordered an awesome Fried Seafood Platter with his choice of fish which was Snapper. The snapper was oh so lightly breaded and came with shrimp, scallops and clam strips; homemade (totally greasless)potato chips and to die for cole slaw. All along we could hear the calyso/jazz band with the musician who plays the saxophone, trumpet, piccolo, to perfection and the singer was getting the attention of the audience when he would sing. The band was fabulous as they played under their thatched roof in their bare feet. It was perfect, the food, ambience, service, music.....almost forgot the BEST. The Deserts are made fresh as we are told by our waitress Jennifer. She mentions a homemade key lime pie that she had made herself that morning and a peanut butter pie. Those are our FAVORITES, the key lime is definitely fresh and not too bitter or watery, creamy and delicious. The peanut butter pie was out of this world, smooth, light, chocolatey, nutty, peanutty, HUGE. The portions are quite large. She mentions that they were actually 3 people short this day - the first day of daylight savings and apologizes for what she calls "the long wait"(2 MINUTES), she didn’t realize that we were not in any hurry and we enjoyed not feeling like they wanted our table for someone else coming to eat.It was quite relaxing, who we now find out at the end of delightfully delicious tropical dining experience that she is also the Owner and Baker, Master of Everything and had truly made this an delightful experience, one to remember. They have daily specials for both lunch and dinner, the dinner specials she says are usually all you can eat, and you will not be disappointed. This was great!!

I had dinner at your restaurant 2 weeks ago and it was FABULOUS!   Albert greeted us and we met his wife and daughter.  Very
friendly place and the chowder was AWESOME.  Plenty to eat and friendly atmosphere.  Loved the waitress too!    Judy Creswell

It is really nice to finally start feeling some sense of warmth in this community, for all ages.  I have enjoyed your emails.  My girlfriend and I were there a few Saturdays ago and had a blast.  The Latin music, the crowd it drew, and the dancing was a lot of fun.  It is especially nice to go into a place and not feel like I am someone's grandmother.  I will certainly pass it on to some snowbirds when they arrive.  Most of them like the one on one dancing for recreation, and dining out.
Thanks for bringing back some hometown feeling to Fort Pierce.

We are new to he area and are always looking for places to take our many guests.  Tonight was such a treat that I
couldn't wait to send a complementary message to you.  We all ate something
different from the menu and all of us raved about our meals.
Thank you for you excellent food, friendly service and casual style.  The prices
are so reasonable and the food is amazing."

But first, a word from the person who runs this site. I am not an employee of the restaurant. I am a customer of the restaurant. There is a difference even though I am going to say mostly flattering things about the restaurant. The fact that I have been a long time customer means I must like something about the restaurant and the people that own it. I am not a fish lover but certain things I like. My favorite is the club sandwich. I especially like the carved home cooked ham rather than the processed chemically shot up ham you get from most restaurants that serve club sandwiches. I like the steaks but think they should be served in a smaller size. I am getting to like the prime rib specials on Sundays.  I like Albert’s soups, very creative and tasty. I like Jen’s desserts, especially how she presents them on the dish. I hope she will make more of them especially the low fat kinds. I love the sautéed spinach even though it is not on the menu. The taste is so good I usually devour the spinach before the rest of the meal.  Do I have complaints about the place? Of course! No restaurant on this planet is 100% perfect 100% of the time-neither am I- but like the restaurant I keep trying. For example sometimes they forget to put my beloved ham on the club sandwich. Sometimes they put the mayonnaise on the sandwich instead of on the side. Unless you like your sandwich drenched in mayonnaise this is something to watch. I think the dish for the steak dinner is too small.  Perhaps that is my background as a photographer influencing that one. Got to have a decent frame on every picture.  Anyway you get the picture. Feel free to write what you feel. No swear words or references to body parts not suited for a family website allowed.  Restaurants and every other business continually make mistakes; the important thing is what they did about the mistake once you brought it to their attention. Also this website is a work in progress and I am not 100% satisfied with the site at this point. Lastly we are offering free ads to some of the local businesses in this area. If we get complaints about these businesses we will put them on our web site. If you get a free ad from us you better treat your customers like they deserve to be treated. Please expect the complained about to respond if they think the complaint is unfair or they need to show that the problem was corrected.
